Top 12 Ways to Survive Black Friday Shopping

Enjoy and Have a Fantastic Thanksgiving!

The Gloria Howell Team's
Top 12 Ways To Survive Black Friday Shopping

12.   Wear your son’s football helmet and pads
11.   Save your voice…take a megaphone.

10.   Pray…a lot.
9.     Wrap your car with bubble wrap for those busy parking lots.
8.     Have plenty of chocolate on hand, not to eat but to throw out on the floor as a distraction.
7.     Have a battle plan. Prepare offensive and defensive strategies.
6.     Practice the Heisman Pose. Use it generously.
5.     Use evasive maneuvers…think ballet…on your toes, grand plié, pirouette, etc. Ballerinas are tough.
4.     Use “tough guy” lines from movies. "You've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?”,  “I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick (butt)… and I’m all out of bubble gum” , "I feel the need – the need for speed". Intimidation can work for you.
3.     Fein your neighbor’s Pit Bull, Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, etc. as your service dog for the day – people will stay out of your way

2.     Sharpen your elbows!
1.     Avoid It all and Sleep In.

10 Things to Do with Pumpkins

Looking for something to do this weekend?  Why not put those pumpkins to a good (and we might add fun, creative & ingenious) use?!

The Gloria Howell Team's Top 10 Things
to Do With Pumpkins:

Shop for them
Carve them
Paint Them
Enjoy a Game of Pumpkin Bowling
Bake a Pie
Bake the Seeds
Make Pumpkin Gut Muffins (follow link below)
Get Pumpkin Pretty With a Homemade Face Mask (directions below)*
Make a Pumpkin Milkshake (directions below)*
Feed the Wildlife (tips below)*

Enjoy & Have a Fantastic Weekend!

Whip those Guts into a Yummy Treat:

Gettin' pumpkin pretty:
Pumpkins are rich in zinc and vitamins A, C and E, which makes pumpkin purée healthy for your body if you eat it and healthy to apply to the skin. That’s why one of the prettiest uses for the
pumpkin is for a DIY face mask.
Start with about five teaspoons of pumpkin purée, add three teaspoons of brown sugar – which will naturally exfoliate your skin – and a tiny splash of milk.
Mix it all together, and apply to your face in circular motions, avoiding the eye area. Relax for up to 20 minutes and allow all that pumpkin goodness to seep into your skin. Bonus: it smells yummy, too!

Pumpkin Milkshake:
Combine two scoops of vanilla ice cream, a half-cup of milk, three tablespoons of pumpkin purée and a teaspoon of cinnamon in a blender. It tastes so much like pumpkin pie!!

Feeding Wildlife:
Depending on where you live, a pumpkin you’d otherwise throw away could be a tasty snack for a furry or feathery neighbor. Old jack-o-lanterns are perfect food for deer, and any pumpkin seeds you don’t want to toast up for yourself will make a yummy treat for birds.
Cut good ol’ Jack into fourths and place the pieces in your yard, away from your house. Soon you’ll notice some Bambi look-a-likes having a tasty afternoon snack. Place unwanted pumpkin seeds in your birdfeeder or the container of your choice, and do some bird-watching while you have your morning coffee.

Grateful to be a Member of this Association Dedicated to Helping Veterans

FOR RELEASE: IMMEDIATE
Date:  February 26, 2012

LOCAL REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL BECOMES MEMBER OF
MILITARY VETERANS ASSOCIATION OF REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS

The Military Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals is proud to announce the addition of our newest member – Gloria Howell with Gate City Real Estate of Pocatello, Idaho.   By becoming a member of MVAREP, Gloria Howell has joined a dynamic group of concerned citizens and real estate industry professionals committed to promoting home ownership opportunities within the military and veteran community.
MVAREP is open to all with members from the real estate community including real estate agents, real estate brokers, lenders, loan officers, title and escrow, home inspectors, insurance representatives, etc.,  as well as concerned citizens and anyone who wants to recognize the sacrifices of military service members including military veterans, active duty service members and national guard members.
MVAREP was formed with many goals in mind.  First and foremost, the main objective will be to promote home ownership within the military and veteran community.  MVAREP will do this by creating and developing programs to educate both the real estate community and general public on the benefits of working with a VA (military) home buyer as well as provide the tools and training for the real estate community to better help and serve members of the military and veteran community.  From there, local and national events will be held with distinguished key note speakers, as well as tools and training provided to all members.
MVAREP was founded by David E. Dion of Solutions Real Estate with offices in both Arizona and California.  David is a Service Connected Disabled Air Force Veteran who served on active duty from 1986 – 1990 and also the Massachusetts Air National Guard from 1990 – 1995.  David himself was recently trying to use his VA Home Loan Guarantee benefit for his own home purchase in Southern California and realized the challenges first hand.  He had made a full price offer (and higher) on more than one home and each time had his offer rejected.  In competitive selling situations, the VA Home Buyer offer is frequently put on the bottom of the pile, or identified as the least desirable offer when compared to a cash buyer, a conventional buyer and even an FHA buyer.
For more information about Military Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (MVAREP), be sure to visit www.MVAREP.org  or email us at info@MVAREP.org.
